“I was in Minneapolis when the bridge collapsed. We have a large market share in that area including Hennepin County Medical Center, which is the Trauma 1 hospital in the area. We were advised that all of the 1st notifications of the bridge collapse were done via pager. All of the hospitals in the area issued a code orange alert, as well as using their code orange group pagers. Cell phones were not working. 30,000 pages went out between 6 p.m. and midnight through our system.”

Paging offers reliable communications during Hurricane Katrina.
"FYI I am with an Urban Search and Rescue for FEMA and with the cell and data service down and systems being flooded. I just want you and your readers know that ReFLEX is working fine and communications are flowing through the units! We are allowing people to send e-mails to loved ones to let them know they are alive and well. Again the critical use of the ReFLEX in the all the disaster situations I have been to (9/11 NYC, Ivan, Isabel and now Katrina!)"
